Didn't wanna put this under the sports thread since some may miss it. Tomorrow's game has been bumped up to 4:30 pm in hopes to avoiding bad weather.

It will certainly be 5-10 degrees warmer.

Yes, but fans will also be much more sober, thus offsetting the 5-10 degrees difference.

they aren't worried about the fans being colder...they are worried about the athletes being able to perform, which is more difficult in cloder weather...

fans just need to bundle up.

I for one will not be more sober!!

I hope we see Infante instead of Perez. Damn, I cant stand that guy. Google "Neifi Perez Index". A guy actually statistically figured how much Perez hurt his team.

I don't get it. Even taking the athletes into consideration. In 2001 they played in NYC well into November and every game was still during primetime...

I think this has more to do with the Mets/Cards playing tomorrow at 8:30.

In 1997 a world series game in Cleveland was played with a wind chill of 15 degrees. This is more about accomodating a 2nd game on the schedule than it is about the weather, IMHO.

Detroitstar brings up a good point, I could drink a 40 oz on the drive home tomorrow, thus I wouldn't be any more sober than originally planned. Though combined with my pistola next to my playstation controlla, that may be viewed as what kids refer to these days as "ridin' dirty."

They want the Mets in prime time....the national interest has gone down once the Tigers went up 2-0.

Yeah I think it is to have the two games on at different times, plus it will be so cold in Detroit it warrants having it early. It will still be f-ing cold, though, probably around 40-42 at gametime and falling to near freezing with dark. Like today, they are expecting scattered snow or rain/snow showers.

"....the national interest has gone down once the Tigers went up 2-0."

Was it ever up?
With the exception of the A's loading the bases in the 9th with Thomas at the plate this has been a pretty boring series so far. If you're not a Tigers fan or an A's fan I just don't think this series is all that attractive. I don't think the JV leagues series will be any more exciting, but at least they have the NY market involved.

And that's a bad thing? I guess tomorrow any type of hot air will be considered appealing.

Ha! I had to squeeze my employer for a 3:30pm deployment, but I work right off 75 at the beav. so it will just take a couple nifty manuevers down the back roads once I get off of grand river and I should be there no problem. May even pay for parking so I don't have to screw around with my free areas.

NY sportstalk radio (WFAN) this afternoon said it was the METS org that pitched a fit to MLB to demand an evening slot for the FRI game. MLB chose to accommodate the METS and bump the as scheduled DET game to an earlier time, the weather was merely an excuse according to the radio guys.
