Just for the hell of it, I jotted down all of the TV ads that aired during tonight's 11pm Channel 4 newscast, not including NBC promos:

11:07pm
Pro-DeVos ad (DeVos speaking at a diner)
Anti-Stabenow ad (images of Debbie Stabenow spewing from the capitol building)
Anti-Glenn Anderson ad ("hypocrite")
Anti-Andy Levin ad ("get ready for the Levin tax hike")
Anti-Glenn Anderson ad ("108 missed votes")

11:11pm
Pro-Mike Cox ad (featuring shady-looking nursing home employee)
Anti-Granholm ad ("her failures are killing Michigan's future")
Pro-John Pappageorge ad ("Andy Levin is lying about my record")
Michigan Right-to-Life ad ("Choose Life")
Anti-Granholm ad ("Granholm has failed")

11:19pm
Anti-Prop 2 ad ("systematic fraud")
Anti-David Law ad (Vioxx - voted 6 times to give drug companies immunity)
Pro-Stabenow ad ("advocate of fair trade")
Anti-John Manor/Pro-Kate Ebli ad ("right change for Monroe families")
Pro-Glenn Anderson ad ("protecting our jobs")
Pro-Andy Levin ad ("a blueprint for the new Michigan economy")

11:27pm
Pro-DeVos ad (DeVos speaking at a diner)
Anti-Stabenow ad (images of Debbie Stabenow spewing from the capitol building)
Anti-Glenn Anderson ad ("108 missed votes")
Anti-Andy Levin ad ("get ready for the Levin tax hike")
Pro-Prop 2 ad (w/Ward Connerly & Jennifer Gratz)

Note, these are *all* of the ads shown during the 1/2 hour newscast... they were all political ads. The only one not directly related to next week's election was the Right to Life ad.

I was surfing DYes anyway while watching the news... might as well do something productive. ;)

I did notice that when Saturday Night Live came on, the ads were more of a mix of about half political ads, half non-political. I guess it makes sense that they'd advertise more heavily during the news.

Slightly surprised that I didn't see any pro-Granholm ads during that 1/2 hour, but there are a decent amount of those airing. Also missed a few of my favorites such as the anti-Prop 3 ad... "Shooting doves is just target practice!"
