Does anyone know what is being done on the Northeast corner at Seven Mile and Woodward? The entire neighborhood was cleared between 1 and 2 years ago and the entire area is fenced off. Just within the last couple months steel beams started going up and looks like the start of a 3 story building.

Sounds like a good project. Hope it doesn't look like suburb in the city. Imagine the densities on a corner like that if the Woodward PCC cars were still rolling.

jjaba, nostalgic.

Megachurches need parking, I'll bet it will look like a suburb.

Would you like a ban on Christian marriages, as well? Perhaps separate drinking fountains?

Television is the opiate of the masses.

...but you're right about one thing..., missionaries in the Amazon are in it for the money...

Missionaries are in that position (get it?!) of their own accord. Megachurches are profitmongers. Sorry, I don't remember the church I went to growing up having a retail shopping area inside of it. GROSS!

Mass is the opiate of the televisions

And how about the tax free land on a major commercial intersection. Now if they had built in the Packard Factory or something, then maybe ok.

So much ruins in Detroit to pick from. To give away land tax free for churches has always bugged jjaba. Any thoughts? (and they get full services for free like police and fire services.)

jjaba.

And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves; and would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.

And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
