I'm looking to buy a bike just to bum around on (not a road racer, and not a trail bike) and since I moved downtown, I'd like to go with a business down here.

Has anyone had any experiences at Jimmie's Bike & Repair Shop on Gratiot?

Any other suggestions?

Even if you don't want to earn a bike at Back Alley, they will let you purchase one.

If Back Alley doesn't have what you're looking for, check out Bike Tech on 18401 E. Warren Ave. in East English Village. That place has been in business in Detroit for nearly 30 years and knows a thing or two about customer service.
