Scripps Days - Art, Autos & Architecture at the William E. Scripps Estate 1840 Scripps Road, Lake Orion, Michigan September 21, 22 & 23, 2007 Sponsored by the Friends of the William E. Scripps Estate and the Orion Historical Society in cooperation with Guest House, Inc. The Scripps Mansion will be showcased at the Scripps Days - Art, Autos & Architecture 3 day festival. Highlights will include tours of the 1927 Norman Revival mansion. The craftsmanship in the house's metalwork, wood carving, stone sculpture, painted finishes, and stained glass is among the finest workmanship in America. Stroll the grounds and enjoy a classic car show, live art demonstrations, entertainment, food and more. Proceeds from this weekend event will go exclusively toward the preservation and restoration of the William E. Scripps estate. Sunset at the Estate Friday, September 21 A pre-festival party celebrating a national jewel $100 per person • Taste of Michigan Strolling Dinner • Tom Allport Jazz Band • Mansion open for browsing • Art exhibits • Classic autos including James Scripps Booth’s 1930 DaVinci Pup Saturday, September 22 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday, September 23 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. A fun-filled day of entertainment, art exhibits and demonstrations, children’s’ activities, classic cars and food. Separate admission for tours. Shuttle to the estate from Canterbury Village south parking lot and admission to the grounds $5 per person.
