The Motor City Theatre Organ Society (the owners/restorers/operators of the Redford theatre) is celebrating its 40th anniversary of presenting public shows by again showing "the mark of Zorro" staring Douglas Fairbanks on Saturday September 22nd at 8:00 pm.
Detroit native John Lauter will be accompanying this silent adventure film on the Redford's Barton theatre organ, as the late, legendary silent film era veteran Gaylord Carter did in 1967 at that very first show. If you have never been to a silent film with live musical accompaniment it is a treat: unlike a concert or "regular" movie with spoken dialogue the live accompaniment to the movie creates a fresh and different art form.
Tickets are $10 and are available at the door. There is plenty of free, supervised parking in the theater’s two adjacent lots. For more information go to http://redfordtheatre.com/movie/
