I was reading the thread about Grosse Pointe North HS, and it was asking who attended there and when they graduated; that got me thinking.

I'm a 22 year old guy who grew up in Oakland County, went to MSU, and just graduated.

My question is:

How many younger people (Teen-25) post here?
What topics are your favorite to discuss?

I'm 20, went to Grosse Pointe North, go to MSU currently...

I stick mostly to the sports forum, or any topic on the main board that has any sort of relevance to me, I usually just lurk to learn stuff about the city/surrounding communities past and present.

I got interested about Detroit back in high school when me and my buddies would pick an area of the city, cruise around and explore. Found some interesting stuff to say the least haha.

I'm 22, originally from Rochester and celebrating my first anniversary of living in Detroit today.

A long long-time lurker, I enjoy threads related to development and business. I least irrational fighting between parties who clearly have begun to take over this forum.

Add me to the count.

I think I like historical threads the most--old maps, aerial images, etc. showing how the city developed, explanations of the street grid, things like that. I also like threads about current happenings around the city, businesses opening, new developments, etc. I have a quasi-practical interest in threads about how to deal with the city government as a homeowner, what to do about nearby vacant houses, and the like, and I enjoy the photos people post of their home renovations. Once in a while I'll head over to the political threads in Non-Detroit, but that's not as interesting to me as the Detroit-related stuff.
I have no interest whatsoever in threads about who lived where in 1956 and which schools they went to, the endless Eastside-Westside debate, sports, 1960s radio and television personalities, or anything posted by Ccbatson, Steelers, or Craigd.
Why do you ask?

I'm 18, graduating from Brandon High School (Ortonville) in a month or so, and planning on attending Wayne State University for Journalism. I'm a Citizen Adviser to the Oakland Press Editorial Board. I like threads about Detroit buildings--restoration, preservation, etc., City of Pontiac issues, record stores, politics, etc. I've learned a lot from posts on this forum & have made checking DYes part of my daily e-mail/computer routine.

25 here. Looking for a job as a family law attorney in Detroit/Metro. Founder/Editor of www.DetroitArmy.com. Grew up in Bloomfield Hills. I am presently in law school in Chicago, but I am moving back to the metro area permanently in the middle of May. Everyone I interview with asks me why I would want to come back to Detroit after living in Chicago. My answer is "I really like Detroit."

24, grew up in Dearborn, graduated from JMC at State in '05, 1L at Wayne State Law.

Big fan of the development news and especially scoops that used to be so prevalent on this board, much less of a fan of "Stand Up and Rep X High, All You X's" threads.

I have been lurking on this board since age 18 - I found it in 1999 while Googling pictures of Michigan Central Station, and thats when I found "THe Fabulous Ruins of Detroit", and this board there after - the rest is history.

I JUST started posting at age 26 back in August :0)
