This Just In......

Mr. TW has granted permission for a Friday morning visit to Cooley High School.

We will report to Main Office at 9:00 am; TW will escort chuckjav & son to your classroom.
This is blowing my mind - I have not been inside CHS since 1975.

Chuck: Unfortunately, my dog needs surgery and the only day available was Friday. I won't be at Cooley. I can, however, make arrangements for one of my students (a senior) to show you around. I'll have him meet you in the office and will let TW know. The student's name is Jeffery. He'll give you the VIP tour. He's one of our JROTC cadets.

Detroitteacher....sorry to hear the news about your dog; I hope all works out for the best. Hopefully I'll have an opportunity for a return visit to introduce myself. In the mean time, I look forward to visiting Cooley and taking the grand tour with Officer Jeffery.

Chuck: Jeffery will meet you in the office about 9 am. Whatever you need, just ask and he can figure out a way to do it. I am going to TRY and be there, too. I have to drop the dog off about 8 at the vet, handle some paperwork and might be able to make it to Cooley by 9 or a little after. The dog won't go into surgery until about 11 so I'll have some time to show you around (providing I can make it there) before I have to be available to the vet. Ms. Robinson, Mr. Woodhouse's assistant knows that Jeffery is going to show you around if I am not there. If I do make it, Jeffery can still come with and give you a student's perspective. He's such a nice kid.

Hopefully, I'll see you tomorrow but if not, Jeffery will take good care of you and your son.

Chuck: I wasn't able to make it since I was detained at the Vet's office. How did things go? How good of a tour did Jeffery give?

Detroitteacher...Everything went very well on Friday.
My son and I arrived at about 9:20; TW had already sent Jeffery back to class - we toured CHS with your football coach...for 90-minutes!

Also got some great exterior shots.

Regrettably, we could not gain access to the library...perhaps, next time?

Thanks again to you, the great staff and students at Good Old Cooley High.

PS Everything was also fantastic at Duffield Elementary School

Chuck: Jeffery told me about being sent back to class. Glad you had a great time. Coach Moss (he's also one of the APs) is wonderful! I am sorry I couldn't make it. The dog is doing great (she likes her pain meds A LOT) but she is quite bandaged up and looks like a half sheered sheep.

PS. If you could email me the pics, that would be fantastic! I'd like to post them to the school's website. We are celebrating our 80th year (although I doubt anyone but a few at Cooley know this) and it would be a great addition to our School History page.

Detroitteacher...will-do.
Glad to hear that your dog is doing fine.

PS This would also have been Mackenzie's 80th Anniversary; Congratulations to Cooley!

I'll be posting some of my son's pictures on Cooley's Wikipedia page:

Chuck: Thanks! I found out it wasn't Coach Moss that showed you around, but it was Kenny...(don't know his last name). Glad you found everything you needed and someone was there to give you the grand tour.

If it's ok, I'd like to use some of the pics you post on the website for Cooley. I don't want to use them without permission, though, and I'd be happy to credit your son with the photog.

Detroitteacher...."How good of a tour did Jeffrey give?" That is a horrible sentence! Obviously you don't teach English. What an example!
