I am sure there is a different way to complain about another forumer. I generally believe in free speech but if this forum is about all things Detroit, I would appreciate the removal of Crawford. his remarks about our automotive community are way...way out of line. Thank you |

While you may disagree with Crawford, I have not seen him insult other posters, or otherwise break any "rules" of the forum. |

Nah, I think the other posters are sufficiently kicking his ass... Let him implode. Sorry, Sumas. *hug* |

I second all of you calling for the ban to be banned. Bunch of Nazi's! If you don't like what is beng said then argue facts. If the person gets belligerent then ignore them. That would be the end of thier troll thread. |

Contact Lowell though the HELP section of the forum. I have found Lowell to be a fair judge when applying the forum rules while respecting free speech. |

Crawford has not violated any forum rules. As long there is no name-calling or personal attacking one may post what they wish. |

Lowell, when it comes to bannings, you have made some calls with which I did not agree, although I readily admit that my opinion, on that, has absolutely no relevance, which is exactly how much relevance it should have. However, a big thumbs-up to you for paying no heed to those calling for Crawford's membership on a platter. The current crisis has brought out a nearly-hysterical surge of provincialism throughout our city, including this forum. While the forum IS called "DetroitYes!," a name which pretty clearly indicates that saying Nice Things about Detroit is strongly encouraged, I think some of my fellow contributors-- for whom I intend no mean-spirited disrespect-- go a bit beyond the beyonds, with their extremely thin-skinned reaction to anyone who, through their remarks, throws a High Hard One at the city, its institutions, or its citizens. Truly, love is blind, but the general concensus that love is a Good Thing does not mean that the same can be said for blindness. I happen to believe that dissent is a Good Thing, and further, a bucketful of vigorous, strongly-worded, uncompromising criticism-- while hardly a treat to which anyone would look forward-- never maimed, or killed, anybody. It can even trigger a growth experience, if one "gets over oneself" a little bit. |

I would never call for a ban of a person in public. That takes some balls. |
