Can't make it today. Have a voucher for free lunch for two at Fiesta Casino. Will probably cost me a Franklin.

Maybe we take our families to the Ford-Wyoming Drive-In?

Maybe a better question to ask, in June?

Back home now. Got lucky and won a Franklin, and still had the free lunch.

Party time.

That's Cool, Ray - Congrats!
Glad you could stop by; we have some of the new Bud American Ale.

9936sussex and a couple of friends just went out for chips and another veggie tray.

Alfie1a, Mack68 & Reddogg said that - soon as you arrived - they'd be ready for some Poker.

Here We Go

Lowell....leave your bottle at home; we are well stocked with fine distilled spirits - beer and wine too. We're having a good-old time; Tom Skerritt is telling M.A.S.H. stories (about Sally Kellerman) & Jerome Bettis just about broke my neck, playing tackle football in the gym.
We've got the pool filled; Barb Gilders is putting on a diving clinic - she is amazing...I tell 'ya.

Please come join us; we're at Mackenzie High School; from the Jeffries, head south on Wyoming.
After crossing West Chicago, you'll see the school; hang a right on West Point - pull in behind the school and park.

Give the double blue doors a good kick - once...then three times.

Password is "Lulu Casemore" - We'll let you in.

Folks...if you're coming by - please bring ice.
Oh...yes, charcoal too.
Gilbert Brown brought a whole hog for roasting.
We've got six poker tables set up & ready to go.

Ah, dear old Lulu. Had her photo taken in 1898 and used the same one all her entire career.

Texas Hold'em, and I have aces wired in the hole.

Mostly bring your own memories... Or we'll share ours.

Ray Lane will be announcing the track meets, David Shirley will be singing light opera. Allan Barnes might get out his alto, maybe Martin Simmons will play piano or flute or bari sax. Stanley Mouse may even make us some posters.

There may be a few baloney sandwiches still curled up in the bottom of those lockers - at least the fragrances lingers on.

Pay no attention to those couples sneaking off to the third floor music practice rooms, we know what they are practicing.

Careful, you're headed up the down staircase!

I brought some Pure-test doughnuts too! And I bought a bunch of magazines from Kligon's drug store just in case we need to go to "study Hall".

You aren't going to get me into one of those nasty girls swimsuits. Coarse cotton with all the substance of a worn out t-shirt. They came in two sizes, too big and too small. We tied knots in the straps to try and keep them in place.

The guys suits fit much better, I was told.

Mrs Shopkin says wee can't cut across the parking lot because it distracts the student drivers in the Dodge Darts.

Yes...the Dodge Darts...excellent memory!
and......oh hell yes....the pool is co-ed.

We are putting the finishing touches on the outdoor rink right now; speed skating, from noon until 2:00; hockey from 2:15 until 6:15; Dinner Break...and free skate from 8:00 until midnight.

Oh.....almost forgot - target shooting in the basement range (noon until 2:00); followed by archery (2:30 until 5:00).

I LOVE MACKENZIE !!

Oh, man, the ROTC firing range! I pumped my share of .22 shorts into that thing. But this time can I put a firing pin into the BAR and use it?

Right-On, Ray...we'll have BAR Men (including my uncle) on-scene for demonstration purposes.

Mackites:

Do we mind if a few Cody, Cooley and Redford Folk stop by to reminisce?
Wanted to ask first, before I say anything to 'em

No problem here. Some of my best friends.....well, you know the line.

Cody was a Johnny-come-lately for me, though; I think it opened after I graduated.

I don't remember any "snow days", either. School was school and weather was weather, and ne'er the twain shall cross, or some shit like that.

Ray1936....truer words were never spoken; what the hell is wrong with today's generation?

One word answer: Litigation?

Ray....I recall an early 1967 blizzard that shut down Detroit Public Schools - for the first time in ninety years!!!
