Hi everyone,

I will be visiting Detroit with my girlfriend for the first time in a few weeks (on 8/12). As a longtime fan of DetroitYes.com and one very interested in Detroit, I am hoping to check out some of the buildings and locations highlighted on this site in person. I was wondering if anyone with a familiarity with the city and the various sites (Book Cadillac, Michigan Central, Detroit Stadium, etc.) and some time might be willing to show us around for a few hours. Also, note that I am not looking for any freebies. I would definitely be willing to give you some compensation for your time. I am really interested in Detroit and its history, and am greatly looking forward to visiting. Thanks!

Whoever you get to take you, make sure you visit the hole in the wall bars. Insist on Tom's Tavern on 7 mile, but you will have to time that one just right. Or Chick's Bar in Warrendale, try to go on Friday's or catch their Eurhre tourney's. Enjoy your stay

Make sure you step into the Guardian and Fisher buildings and take a look at art/architecture that can't be duplicated today at any price.
