Hi everyone, I will be visiting Detroit with my girlfriend for the first time in a few weeks (on 8/12). As a longtime fan of DetroitYes.com and one very interested in Detroit, I am hoping to check out some of the buildings and locations highlighted on this site in person. I was wondering if anyone with a familiarity with the city and the various sites (Book Cadillac, Michigan Central, Detroit Stadium, etc.) and some time might be willing to show us around for a few hours. Also, note that I am not looking for any freebies. I would definitely be willing to give you some compensation for your time. I am really interested in Detroit and its history, and am greatly looking forward to visiting. Thanks! | ||

Whoever you get to take you, make sure you visit the hole in the wall bars. Insist on Tom's Tavern on 7 mile, but you will have to time that one just right. Or Chick's Bar in Warrendale, try to go on Friday's or catch their Eurhre tourney's. Enjoy your stay | ||

Make sure you step into the Guardian and Fisher buildings and take a look at art/architecture that can't be duplicated today at any price. | ||
