So my bro just got in for a weeklong stay (he lives in NYC). He used to DJ our parties at MSU with another buddy of ours. We're having a "reunion" on the roof at Karras Bros. They play house, disco, and ghettotech but will ham it up for the crowd (Prince and MJ). All are welcome, bring your dancing shoes and hopefully it'll be a nice night out. Oh, and no cover. The guys will be a little rusty, it's just some folks giving it the "old college try". (Message edited by sharmaal on July 22, 2006) |

Pretty much anywhere with Sharmaal...dude seems to know everybody. Sharmaal, IF I'm back in town by then, I'll stop in...I'm down in Phoenix, and need to get through Albuquerque, Dallas, Iowa City, and Chicago before I see my own bed again. Cheers! |

Coaches Corner had a band? Or is it the Rhino that you are talking about? Three people on a Saturday night at Karras - sounds about right! |

Coach's has been having bands lately. Rosie is booking them so look to see some Music Menu folks start playing at Coach's. |

Had to go to Karras Bros....I would have been the only one in Atwater...and Andrew's doesn't open until 8pm on Saturday. How the hell does Atwater stay in business ? |

"How the hell does Atwater stay in business?" They don't. The business is on its third owner(s) in the last 9 years. The only constant has been the brewer who has seen the investors come and go. |

They do make some damn good beer. The issue I have had is inconsistent hours. Why go there if you're not sure that the place will be open. I will say the food and service has vastly improved since it became Atwater again. |

Keep in mind they also have a very large brewing facility which I'm sure generates revenue as well. I’m pretty sure they bottle beer for other local breweries. At one point they were distributing in multiple states, not sure if that’s still going on. Once upon a time you could buy their beer at Ford Field. It's a shame they can't figure out how to make that bar more successful. Maybe owner number four will have a better plan. As long as we have Hazen all is well. |

Karras Brothers is awesome - no smoking inside. YAY! And the food at Atwater is mediocre at best, I'd hate to see what it was if this is an "improvement"!!! |
