Twenty cop cars with full lights and sirens just whipped north on Woodward here at 6 Mile.

Anybody know what's going on?

Yo, i Just saw this too like 15min ago at Davison and Livernois.. three cop cars stopped traffic while about 8 more unmarked cars went east on Davison, then a final car went north on Livernois along with the cops that were blocking traffic. Then at each intersection down Davison they stopped traffic. Strange.

Maybe they're having one of their special "enforcements".

Were the unmarked Detroit's or Federal? I've seen stuff like this a couple of times along I-94 near Metro - like they're looking for someone.

In Phoenix the cops run some kind of rolling roadblock up I-17 when a VIP moves through town. They block entrance ramps in sequence so as to maintain a buffer around the motorcade. It's quite an impressive bit of radio-controlled automotive choreography.

I'm not saying that's what's happening here but the possibility is there.

DPD does this for funerals of cops and others who hold positions of power in the city whenever they pass away.

Was there recently a cop killed? Could have been part of the funeral procession.

I was actually involved in one of these processions back in the day in Detroit for a cousin. It seemed like we probably disrupted traffic severely from the funeral down on Grand River and Warren up to the cemetary in Southfield.

It was quite a unique experience.

Too bad a slob citizen doesn't get to see Detroit's finest when they call in a robbery or some other non violent crime.

"Too bad a slob citizen doesn't get to see Detroit's finest when they call in a robbery or some other non violent crime."

Or have to wait "at least" 2-3 hours for them to come.

Need tax base to get cops.
Need residents to get tax base.
Need cops to get residents.

Life's a bitch, then you deal with it.
