Saw something odd at 75/Davison -- animal control guy taking a carcass off the shoulder. not that odd, I guess, but this was a deer. Coyotes, deer, what's the next wild thing to move into the city?

There was an enormous dog at I-75 and Davison this Sunday. Are you sure they were removing a deer?

at my old apartment, i came home one night to find a possum on the stairs between the 2nd and 2rd floor balconies. after it hissed at me, i used the front entrance...this was in the 2nd and prentis area.

i hear a pheasant just about every morning at my new location, but those are almost as common as pigeons in this city it seems

We had a thread going on this topic last fall. Check that out too, lots of people contributed what they've seen. Basically animals use rivers and creeks as thier freeways. It's not unfeasible to think how they can migrate around when you think about it. When I was working in Flint last week someone told me of a black bear killed on a freeway in thier downtown.

RB336, they are in michigan. There has been numerous photos, video, and tracks of them in the past 25 years in Michigan. The DNR denied their existence in the state forever...but theyve been warming up to it recently.

Actually it was on I-75 near the Pierson Rd. exit. Not downtown but a pretty well built up area none the less. Appearantly it had followed along the Flint River and decided to play in traffic.

In the Lafayette Park neighborhood we've had a coyote (with a limp), fox, peregrine falcons, pheasant, rabbits, chipmunks, possum.

Yesterday I saw a hummingbird.

Islandview has rabbits, fox and opossum; black, grey and red squirrels, too. Pheasants are all over.

My girlfriend has a pheasant running around her neighborhood (Brush Park).
We had a peacock here in New Center roaming the wilds of Virginia Park, but I have neither seen nor (thankfully) heard him in a while.
Did see a rabbit last night, though.

My wife saw a couple deer in Dearborn by Henry Ford CC a while ago-it's possible one could wander to the area mentioned.
