I don't think Lowell would appreciate using the bandwidth to post all 21 wards, but if you can get access to Ancestry.com at a library, you can search for yourself.

Bring up any page in that census for Detroit. At the top, you will see a line at the top that says:

You are here Search> Census> 1920 US Census> Michigan> Wayne> (and etc.).

Double click on Wayne, and all the wards for Wayne county will pop up in a list, including the 21 Detroit wards. You can click on the wards on that list one by one and get the boundaries. It'll be a bit tedious, but whaddahell. Good luck.

Ray, what is the website? The census website, American FactFinder...?

Here is the old wards map:

http://www.ci.detroit.mi.us/it sd/gis/gis_mappg_ward.htm

Most of the ones in the central city, as you can see, were very thin and followed the boundaries of the old ribbon farms.

No, we're talking about www.ancestry.com which is a pay service. It costs about $200 a year, but is invaluable to anyone really into genealogy.
