Sorry I didn't mean if this will work... I meant to ask if there is any chance that CYA could become a destination for this airline.

Skybus also received an incentive package valued at $57 million from city, county and state officials.

If it took that kind of an "incentive package" for Skybus to make a viable business case, I don't think it has much of a future in Columbus, much less a chance of expanding to Detroit.

I don't know, the Casino traffic could make it work.
As long as you saved 20 bucks to fly back home people might use it.

I'm all about flying cheap, considering I fly about once a week--but the service and amenities available flying into Metro is well worth the $50-100 extra price--and I live just 2 miles from CAY.

It could happen. I'm open to any options @ this point.

I always thought an airline that flew only to Chicago, New York, and Tampa/St. Pete would do well from City Airport. Chicago is always popular, New York covers the east coast and could potentially help with foreigners from Europe coming into the U.S. Tampa/St. Pete would be busy with all the snowbirds that come from Florida to the Midwest.

Especially since DTW has officially become the 2nd best airport in the nation according to customer satisfaction ratings from JD Power, I don't think any carrier, even a no-frills carrier, will ever come to City Airport. What is the incentive?

Think again. Southwest and Proair already tried. SW stopped due to the crappy upkeep of the airport and Proair couldn't make enough money to keep their four jets in good mechanical shape.

Flyby would sure like to see something like this happen at KDET however many improvements would have to take place first. To name a few: 24 hour security, re-licensing by FAA, improve terminal conditions, improve runway and taxiways conditions, re-hire maintenance personal. The list could go on. Not sure the city leaders would invest that kind of money considering the last two airlines couldn’t / wouldn’t make it.

In flyby’s humble opinion, the city leaders should concentrate more effort in the handling of corporate aircraft like General Motors, Fords & Chrysler. These companies currently use Pontiac and Metro airports.

Good point Flyby!

Edsel Fords Pentastar is out in Oakland County when City is just minutes from his house.

That's scary as hell. I don't think I'd trust an airline that charged $10 per flight.
