Anyone know of a decent downtown Marina? I've got a friend who is looking. He has two younger kids and isn't looking to spend an arm and a leg (at least in the boat world, I can't relate).

The closest one to downtown is the marina at the Riverfront Apartments/Condos.

Next closest to downtown is Harbortown.

The Erma Henderson Marina is about 10 minutes from downtown.

Also worth considering are Kean's Marina

and Harbor Hill Marina

If he wants to be right downtown you can't beat the Riverfront Condos. I think they are fairly affordable but do not offer any of the amenities of a traditional marina (fuel dock, store, boat ramp or lift, etc.). If he wants a full service marina close to downtown Kean's and Harbor Hill are the best choice. All of the marinas in Detroit are pretty affordable and all of them have plenty of space.

What is the name of the one by Sinbad's?? That fairly close to Downtown and Sinbads does shuttles all over the Downtown area.

For an overnight stay, Tricentennial Park has a well maintained one.

I highly suggest Gregory's marina. Great experiences there... All amenities inlcuding storage, overnight stay, restaurant, supply shop, fueling dock, and lighted slips with water and electricity
