Studio One Apartments updated their website to include floor plans, some pricing information, and other details about the project. They are digging away at the site, http://www.studio1apartments.c om/ |

Hmmm...I would be very interested in this place, but I think the prices are a bit high for the current market. I think the bang for buck is a little better in the lofts downtown. The midtown location close to WSU will be the single reason these prices will work, IMO. |

Are you serious? More bang for the buck in the lofts downtown? In what way? |

For those of you who are unable to put this into context, this is the South University Village that has been discussed in full on this site. |

Its a great project, but I'd rather pay those rates and own a condo or home. |

I think most younger people and grad students don't want to be tied down by a home or condo in this economic environment. Considering mortgage payments, association dues, insurance, etc. it will probably be as nice as The Ellington for less money. |

Advertise what? I drive by the thing every day because I live close by and check the website often because up until today it had just been a blank page basically with no information. It's exciting, when was the last time a high quality apartment building was built downtown? Millender Center? Mid 1980's? Personally I think it's a tad expensive for the market since they charge you for parking as well. |

$870 for a 1BR of that size is a bit pricey. But other factors also come into play, such as parking. If you include parking, that's about as much as some people pay for living in the CBD for an efficiency/studio with about the same footage. |

I agree, this place is too pricey. I've got 1100 sf in downtown A2 for 1200/month. Since it's three bedrooms, its 300/person. The best you can do with the 1 BR at this place is get yourself a roommate and still pay upwards of 400/month, plus utilities and parking. What?!? These will be empty for a while after they're built unless they bring the prices down. Either that or they will miss their target audience of WSU students, and instead get professors, med. school residents, yuppies... Maybe that's what they want. I'm just saying that this is too much for students. Glad to see the development along Woodward, of course, though. |

^they aren't mainly going after students with this development...everything I read indicated they were marketing towards young professionals working downtown, DMC workers and perhaps a few WSU graduate students... these are definitely not going to be dorms... |

It's nice to have new rental places for such people...but it is expensive for them, too. I guess they'll save a lot of money by not needing to commute, though. |
