The Avalon Bakery is outstanding. I am happy for their success. They set up in what was considered a very rough and risky setting at the time and led the growing revival of that area. For those not familiar with the location, it is the former site of the famous Willis Gallery, a coop gallery that launched many of Detroit's artist, myself included. Avalon continued the art with their baking. I hope they keep a presence there.  | ||

it would be cool if they took over Agave's former digs...but from that whole fiasco it sounds like the landlord is somewhat of a D-bag but I hope they can keep that location as a satellite store, it would really hurt the west willis area to loose that location...hopefully it will remain occupied by them or another retail tenant...a restaurant would be cool | ||

i'm not sure if all details have been worked out with the new space, so i'm not at liberty to say yet. however, i can confirm that they will be staying in the same neighborhood. |
