They broke ground on converting several massive parking lots surrounding DTE campus into a hot park like space. the new sidewalks are in place anyone see the rendering on as previous post? MGM will really benefit from this urban park. |

Talked to DTE security today. Was told the parking lots that surround the headquarters will be converted to a college campus type park, and the main entrance will move to the west side facing the main entrance to MGM GRAND CASINO. A new widened 3rd street will be transformed into a real blvd so DTE and MGM will face each-other. |

That's right; funnel those DTE employees straight into the casino at lunch and after work. |

Yes - Third is soon to be a boulevard. No - the DTE main entrance won't face the casino. A new lobby will be built onto the front of the Walker Cisler Building. A landscaped roadway off Bagley will serve the new entrance lobby. |

The Cisler Building is the tallest "modern" one in the complex. While the lobby is being built on the Cisler Building, the temporary main entrance will be in the older General Offices Building - the entrance is "under" the plaza. |

This project is so important in making west downtown more walkable. The less parking lots (expecially the empty ones) the better. Walking from MGM to the Rosa Parks Transit center, which connects to the people mover, which connects to the river walk, greektown, and the CBD will be less ugly |
