Yesterday my husband and I went to the National Coney place at Gratiot and 696. The murals all around the top of the walls are in a Diego Rivera style, and depict a coney production line, complete with a chili foundry! Absolutely charming, and very well done! Where are your favorite Detroit or Car themed decor? And we can just add the original Diego Rivera at the DIA to the top of the list before we even get started to get it out of the way. ~Liza |

I guess the Detroit Historical Museum should be right up there with their exhibits. |

I guess I'm thinking more along the lines of a place that is *decorated* in a theme - not an exhibit. I know they are all over town, jut wondering if anyone has a favorite. ~Liza |

There used to be a place on Woodward & ? , called Doug's Body Shop back in the late 70's. You could sit at a table or in a "car". Two doors and "B" pillar would be missing and a table with facing seats would be in it's place. Quite a novelty restaurant long gone. Rodger's Roost on Schoenherr north of 14 mile rd. has a fire truck for a band stage and a lot of auto memorabilia. |

I've always wondered what happened to those car booths from Doug's - very cool place that was! ~Liza |
