Can anyone identify the original purpose and owner for the silo's at St. Aubin and Erksine? The silo's are two blocks east of Roma Cafe. |

Actually, I think the complete slogan is "Lehigh Valley Anthracite - The Coal that Satisfies". Anthracite coal is cleaner to handle than bituminous coal and it also burns cleanly with little soot, making it ideal for use in residential furnaces. In the old days, if you were the unlucky child whose job it was to clean out the cinders and ash from your family's coal-fired furnace, you would definitely agree with the slogan.
