See live footage of the Ste. Claire being towed up from Toledo. It looks like it must be somewhere downriver at the moment.

Looks like they're out on the open waters of Lake Erie right now. (I guess they must not have reached the Detroit river yet after all.)

The tow was at Det R Lt at 1530 (3:30, for the non-military set), & she’s due at Grassy Island by Wyandotte at 1750 (5:50). Her current ETA for the Tri-Centennial Park is about 1830 (6:30).

It looks like G-tug Superior is in the lead on the tow, with G-tug Wyoming assisting on the stern.

They didn’t call in at Grassy, but are now abeam of the Rouge Shortcut Canal. They should be Downtown within about an hour.

Wow. They’ve almost got her tied her up at the park, & I have tears in my eyes. I’m really glad I stuck around for this. :-)

My parents courted on that boat in the '20's when my mother was 19 and my dad was 23...when they weren't dancing at the pavillion on Belle Isle...wonderful childhood memories of an every summer trip to the island...used to love to stand and watch those huge pistons drive the engine...thanks for the link.

I know how you feel, Awfavre. Looking at the webcam shots from out here in the Pacific Northleft makes me homesick.

And a little sad, too. The gallery shots that the Free Press have tell me that a lot of work is needed. I hope they are sucuessful in their efforts, and the Ste. Claire ends up with a fate like the Virginia V in Seattle.

I just uploaded some photos. She arrived at around 7:15pm. We gave her a grand welcome.

Thanks, Fishtoes!! I wish that I could have seen her come up the river last evening in person!! But you provided a good look into how it was.

Looking at the photos, I see she doesn't have any life boats.
I would think that is the first thing the Coast Guard would object to. Even if she is tied up.
