Also, Flybydon's photos of the MGM complex really show what a small part of the project the hotel is. |

They all built the minimum number of rooms required by the casino license agreement they signed with the city. |

French777 Under the Archer administration, it was agreed upon that the casinos would all have 800 hotel rooms. In a deal to get the projects underway, Kwame agreed to cut the number of rooms to 400 apiece; this was done in his first term as mayor. MGM has stated that if the casino/hotel is more successful than anticipated that there is easement on their site to add more rooms to their complex. There could be a third wing added onto the hotel. It would then be shaped like a "Y" |

MCC is all lit up like a Christmas Tree tonight. It's cycling through several different colors, I've never seen it do that before. http://s111.photobucket.com/al bums/n137/tetsua/?action=view& current=100_0986.jpg http://s111.photobucket.com/al bums/n137/tetsua/?action=view& current=100_0985.jpg http://s111.photobucket.com/al bums/n137/tetsua/?action=view& current=100_0983.jpg |

some fine pictures you took there, Tetsua. I saw it too...it looked like a spaceship. It was changing so many different colors. I remember hating the MCC when it was first erected earlier this year (or maybe last year). I have been actually falling in love with it lately. It's pretty damn cool looking! When you guys see the light show, you'll probably like it more, too. |

I saw the MCC lit up too. There were bands of neon on every floor that changed from red to green to blue. Awesome. |

^I was thinking the exact same thing...actually, I think the shut down could occur the day before the grand opening, or 2 days if you consider 11:59PM on Tuesday night to technically be Wednesday It would hinder their grand opening, but they would recover from it |

I was thinking that as well Ram. Somewhere in front of the casino in the original renderings there as supposed to be a fountain. A nice sized one too BTW. Maybe it will just be a warm weather thing? |

2 Things: 1. It will be odd seeing a High Rise lighting up like MC is outside the CBD. 2. I would assume the Casino Garages are also Public Parking Garages as well. Not to mention, this is a car-run city. |

lol If you look closely next time you pass the pumpkin patch at the MGM, you will see that the section of the facade under the lion icon is a falling water feature. It is also tinted red. You can't really see it in my photos, but maybe THAT is the water feature that was shown in the renderings...only in the renderings as an actual fountain. The pumpkins won't get stolen because there is a security guard out there and I'm sure there are cameras all around the property. Plus, they are too heavy and it would look suspicious rolling a giant pumpkin down Michigan Avenue. And where would you take it? I have a question, in that first aerial photo of MGM, what is the arched driveway thing that just seems to dead end adjacent to 3rd Street? D-Stylin, I was down on the corner just before dark w/ my bike and tripod. Traffic was very busy and I got a lot of strange looks from passerbys. I'm sure I would have run into you if I stayed a bit longer. |

The dead end looking ramp leads to underground parking intended for hotel valet parking. Flyby had a private tour inside the MGM today. I was impressed. It’s not Las Vegas but not far from. |

I'm assuming the ramp on side of the garage then is the exit from the Underground Parking? |
