Some of those homes in Dearborn's south end have been condemned for now since their foundations have partly broken. In all my years in this area I can't remember it ever flooding like that in the south end in the neighborhoods. Just usually under bridges like Wyoming under Dearborn and Dix under Industrial among others.

Wasn't that big project in Patton Park supposed to improve storm water runoff in Southwest Detroit and Dearborn's South End?

We have a small lake in our backyard right now. First time in the four years we've been here. The basement is still dry though!!

The strange thing is that Dearborn's areas prone to flooding are mostly unbuilt. It's Ford Field and along the Rouge in the west end.

The storm of '47 that flooded the power house at Fairlane Mansion and caused Ford to die in the dark was the biggest I'd heard of. In West Dearborn it extended up Brady to the intersection with Morley. But it's not happened again since then.

And I've not heard of problems in the east and south ends. Until now, after they built that project in Patton Park.

How about the cemented Rouge I heard that the Dearborn area used to flood a lot worse before it. I also understand there was a plan to do the same to the Clinton River but it met strong opposition. Good thing that didnt happen
