Earlier in the year I found an unbuilt diagonal road called Imperial Hwy in Macomb that was never built. I have found yet another diagonal road that was only partially built. It is called Sunset Hwy and exists in segments in Lathrup Village, Southfield and Oak Park. It ran from there to about 8mile/ Wyoming. Anyone know anything about this one? What was with all of the diagonal roads built or planned cutting right through the grid system of those days?

Two maps from the 30s with Sunset Blvd on it going from 8/Wyoming to about 12 mile in Lathrup Village.
