does anyone have any information on a braun park in detroit.

i am told it was in the mc nichols/dequindre area in detroit during the 1940s and 1950s.

I found several references to boxing at Braun Park in the late 40s, including this pic:

The address I have is 14285 Dequindre, which places it just south of McNichols, at the bend in Dequindre. Now that I see the location, I assume it is another name, earlier or later, for Dequindre Park, as mentioned in this thread, about a quarter of the way down:

You're welcome. Yes, there was a baseball field there where minor league teams played briefly. Braun was the name of a large lumber yard on the north side of Davison, just a few blocks west of Dequindre, where I-75 now runs. I assume the park land was probably owned or donated by the company.

I think the lumber company bordered the Grand Trunk Western Railroad. Davison went under the tracks. It was very close to the start of the Davison Underpass.

i also found out that recreation football and michigan aau hockey (in the winter) were played there in the late 1940s.
