I notice the old Botsford Inn is being torn down. I've search the board but found no mention of this. Anyone know what if anything is taking its place? |

Actually only the crappy motel-like additions to the Inn are being torn down. The original Inn will remain. |

Why would Clara Ford haunt the Botsford Inn when she has an awesome mansion she could haunt? |

The Botsford Inn was bought by the hospital, from what I remember reading, and will be converted to medical or office use. |

Yes, Fury13, Botsford Hospital owns the Inn. The 1960s-built wings are being demolished to make room for a new cancer treatment center. The original center portion will be restored and used as meeting/office space. The barn was bought by a Farmington Hills couple and will be moved to their property in the historic district of FH. |

Farmington/Farmington Hills are pretty good with their remaining historic structures. Try knocking down anything with a historical marker in front and you will have a ton of people upset. Check out this link : http://www.ci.farmington-hills .mi.us/Community/HistoricDistr ict.asp The Farmington Hills Historic District pdf file is pretty cool. |

I used to love going to the Botsford Inn for Thanksgiving Dinner. It really put you in the mood. |

Old, but relevant - Items from Botsford Inn to be Offered at Public Sale Farmington Hills, Mich., April 20, 2007 – The Botsford Foundation will hold a sale of the contents of the Botsford Inn on May. The sale will be held from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. on May 11, 12 and 13 and on May 18, 19 and 20. Everything Goes Estate Liquidations Inc. will manage and conduct the sale for Botsford. The sale is among activities associated with preparing the Botsford Inn site for the groundbreaking for Botsford’s new cancer center in early fall. The sale will include glassware, china, decorative accessories, light and plumbing fixtures, television sets, bedroom sets, restaurant fixtures, cooking implements, windows and other hardware. Also included will be the bar that was located in the Coach Room Bar. Most of the antique furnishings of the historic Inn are not included in the sale. ”We will use most of the antiques when we restore the structure as an early nineteenth century Inn,” said Margo Gorchow, Executive Director of The Botsford Foundation. “We will put the Inn in “tour worthy” condition so the members of the community can again have access to the building. We will also retain some of the personal touches of Henry and Clara Ford,” Gorchow said. The Botsford Inn was restored by the Fords in 1925. Items that are not sold will be donated to Habitat for Humanity Detroit. |
