For those who care, turns out this one never got beyond the planning stages. It was designed by Smith, Hinchmann & Grylls (Guardian, Penobscot, Buhl and many, many others) in 1926. It would have gone on Washington Boulevard had it not been for a little something called the Great Depression. |

Where was is supposed to go? I have never heard of it. To bad for the depression, Detroit lost a lot of good towers because of the depression....not to mention all of the ruined lives! |

It’s depressing to think that this building may well have been torn down by now. This is a real look back at a time when Detroiters' were full of optimism and hope, with a bright future ahead of us. Sigh... |
