For those who care, turns out this one never got beyond the planning stages. It was designed by Smith, Hinchmann & Grylls (Guardian, Penobscot, Buhl and many, many others) in 1926. It would have gone on Washington Boulevard had it not been for a little something called the Great Depression.

Where was is supposed to go? I have never heard of it. To bad for the depression, Detroit lost a lot of good towers because of the depression....not to mention all of the ruined lives!

It’s depressing to think that this building may well have been torn down by now. This is a real look back at a time when Detroiters' were full of optimism and hope, with a bright future ahead of us. Sigh...
