I know this is probably a small shop, they only make the Viper and used to make the Prowler there. However, where is this damn thing? I'm guessing it has to be on Connor Ave (duh) and most likely near the JNAP Jeep plant. But I've never seen a sign, I don't see any directions, nothing. Where is this place?

Behind the Detroit Water pumping station on 8 Mile. You have to get to it from E Outer Drive, where it curves south.

It used to be a Champion Spark Plugs plant.

That Viper plant on 20000 Conner, interesting enough, is headed by a very competent woman. Few, if any other, assembly plants are female run.

I thought it was part of Jefferson Assembly, too, which you can't miss when driving the lower east side. Or do they just make the Viper engines there?

Viper Production was originally at the New Mack Assembly Plant and shown, in part, on the classic Fabulous Ruins of Detroit tour at https://www.detroityes.com/industry/38viper.htm. The industrial building at the left in that picture is now a parking lot.

Old Viper Plant

The following is from the D-C website.
"Plant was built in 1966, purchased by Chrysler in 1995. Viper production began in May 1992 at the New Mack Assembly Plant and was moved to Conner Avenue in October 1995. Prowler production began in May 1997 and ended in February 2002. Viper V-10 Engine Production transferred from Mound Road Engine to Conner Assembly in May 2001. In 2003, the newly engineered SRT 10 Roadster hit the market and the SRT 10 Coupé followed in 2005."
