I exited 94 W onto 75 N and noticed a fire at the northwestern nexis of that intersection, near the big old white factory (Fisher Body?), about 6 pm tonight. Anyone else see this? Anyone know if fire department has been alerted? |

that is indeed fisher body. did you see fire? smoke? this is awful, because that is an amazing building. i believe it was kahn designed and the first in the world to have reinforced concrete. |

The fire was adjacent to the building, not in the building itself. I did not have a phone on me. I have not called the fire department. I should think that in the hours since, someone has called or noticed. It would be an inferno by now... |

-Thanks Gravitymachine. I suspected it was just a junkyard fire...there was clearly a plume of smoke, mostly from the rain hitting the flames. |

Ahhh--when was that building (Fisher body) built?
Building 10 in the Packard plant was the first Albert Kahn designed steel reinforced concrete building. |
