They have been a favorite of mine for many years. Although they have been lacking for a while with the reality tv talk and the nonstop talk about brittney spears and jessica simpson, they are still on my radio every day. My question is how much longer do you think they will be on the air? I have been listening since 96 and will be very sad when they go. |

"Till death do us part." I use to listen all the time every morning for hours but now just for a few minutes on the way to work. Now they sound like a dirty version of "Access Hollywood" or "E Entertainment." I love to make fun of celebrities but it gets old fast. Also, they promote TV so much they have to be getting paid or one of the TV media conglomerates has to own them. Its an absurd amount of cross marketing. But then again all people do these days is talk about sports and tv at work so I suppose they are just a mirroring current culture and feeding everyone what they want most. In addition, sometimes they help perpetuate and reinforce ignorance on a variety of subject matters. Tired. They could pack things up tomorrow and I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Trudy, the queen of mis-information. If she gets more than $6.50 per to read the paper on air, I think I will just throw in the towel. |

Trudy's job consists of watching the morning news on TV and spitting it back out on the radio. Then she does a Rock Financial segment. Mind blowing. |

Do they still do Bob Boner, the car salesman, havent heard that in years. Still remember the one when the husband calls up wanting to buy a car for his wife. Boner says, "well bring her on down, we'll dicker". |

They go on forever about how they hate American Idol, yet it seems they saw it the night before. Then they play all the clips over and make fun of them. Why not just ignore something you don't like instead of promote it? Can they have a conversation with out using the word "absolutely" at least 50 times. I just recently started listening to them for a change. But I've given up already. |

Anyone wonder why this "nextstopbroadway" decides to make his first post a "gee, when will this show that is obviously doing well in the ratings go off the air?" Think it's someone in radio with an axe to grind? Try the mibuzzboard, broadway. (Message edited by misssocks on January 18, 2007) |

At least Drew and Mike aren't like every other morning show, where there is a big fat, supposedly funny and crazy, guy named after an animal, like "The Bear". With that said, Drew and Mike just aren't that funny. Not many people on radio (or television) are anymore. That's why I watch cartoons. |

They have lost their spark a bit but they are still Detroit radio. I personally would rather listen to them than Dick Purtan. (Old as dirt) |

Blaw.. Dick Purtan may be old as dirt but he is so much better than the crudeness of Drew and Mike and his national accolades, including Radio Personality of the Year and Radio Hall of Fame prove it. |

I agree...I am not a conservative Born Again Christian, but when I hear a radio personality use the words "God Damn It", as I've heard on Mike and Drew, I cringe. It's not appropriate for the radio. |

The show lost a lot when Mark Patrick left. He did T.C. in Skycrib and HoCo from Heaven to name a few. I still listen but I don't laugh as much as I did 10 years ago. |

just an FYI, Drew Lane graduated from Virgina Tech University... Mike Clark is a certificated Sky Diver, and holds a Private Pilot's License with Instrument and Multi Engine ratings, in addition to being a certificated flight instructor. dummies they are not... with that said, i havent listened to them in probably 8 years. ive heard them on and off in that time but it was all accidentally... david |

"Dummies" that make over a million dollars a year...not bad for being a "Dummy" or wearing out their welcome, I think they are still #1 in the ratings? |

I confess, I used to listen to D&M every morning. I started tuning in somewhere around Sep, 1996. I finally stopped listening about a month ago and don't miss them at all. I'm not a fan of talk radio so I prefer to listen to music as much as possible. Anyway, they used to be funny. Now, not so much. If they got back to being funny like the good ole days, I might give them a try. However, their material seems to consist of mocking celebrities, talking ad nauseum about TV shows that I don't even watch (American Idol, The Office, Apprentice, etc) and other assorted unfunny stuff. I'm also going to bill Drew for the time I lost watching "Anchorman" and "Napoleon Dynamite", supposedly howlingly funny movies. As for the ratings, I think they have relinquished top dog status. /Be more funny! |

Couldn't agree more. I don't have nearly as long of a commute as I used to and the little I catch is them bitching about Oprah or talking about the Office etc... every once in a while if I am out and about around 10am or so, and they are usually done doing their TV and gossip magazine reviews and become a little more candid. The other day I had to cringe. Something was being said about the new casinos and Drew popped in to say something along the lines of the casinos still being built along the river. Drew and Mike tend to promote the downtown goings on and bitch about the politcs of the city just as much as anyone, but that comment was a bad one! He was corrected though. Also if anyone listens to the WRIF through out the day, is it me or do they only play two songs then have commercials? |

I still listen every day online from Germany but could they talk more about the new "Lincoln's from Jack Demmer Ford!" anymore? For the love of God, you'd think the "New Lincoln MKZ" is the greatest car ever built. They seem to be bowing to their advertisers a hell of a lot more lately. At least with Dr. Roche they can still talk about boobs. |

D & M: when they aren't laughing about farting , they gossip gossip gossip, but don't forget they make "over a million dollars" a year, so they must be worth listening to . They should get together with Free FM and have a gossip fest. |

While I agree that their show is not what it once was, for the most part what they talk about seems to be a reflection of popular culture and entertainment. That said, it illustrates to us what kind of crap passes off as entertainment these days. I've never watched Survivor, Big Brother, American Idol or any of the "Reality Shows" that consume the majority of their morning discussions. I'm sure the millions of people who can't get enough of the crap that is "American Idol" probably love to hear them re-hash it the next morning. I listen to them on the way to work, but when they start recounting what happened on TV shows that I don't watch in the first place, I switch over to my Ipod or another station that plays music. I know they have to pay the bills too, but the commercials shilling for Rock Financial and Lincoln Mercury are nauseating. |

Regardless of what sucks about Drew and Mike the biggest surprise it that no other radio station in the area has figured out how to do what they do. Go back in time and remember the Steve Dahl era, the progression of Dick the Bruiser, the ability of Denny McLain to pull good ratings on a lousy signal at a terrible time slot, J P McCarty, pure class, and then think of what we have now. Drew & Mike do well because nobody else is willing to degrade themselves as much as they do. And the music from all the genres these days is terrible. |

Loved Drew & Mike. I listened to them for a while before moving to NYC, then I got hooked on Opie & Anthony, who are now syndicated on 97.1 FreeFM in Detroit (it's about time!). I've been listening to them since they first came to NYC in '98. While I tend to turn them off when they get too "sophomoric", often times the intelligence of the hosts clearly shines through. Especially Anthony, who's gifted with a great voice for impersonation (dead-on, every time), but would would have been a Scientist or an Engineer in another life. Their sidekick Jim Norton (who has done multiple appearances on Leno, Conan, & HBO) is sharp as hell & hilarious, and I think they're they funniest show on radio these days. I can't draw much of a comparison since I don't have D&M to listen to anymore, but O&A are definitely worth checking out. The show has a very stream-of-consciousness flow to it, with a lot of inside jokes, so it may take a few days to "get infected". If you love the typical "Morning Zoo" radio show, you'll HATE Opie & Anthony -- and that's just the way they like it. |

i remember when WCSX did a parody of OnStar... they played a clip of some potty humor from Drew and Mike and a lady calling 'OnStar' and asking for help because she and her daughter were in the car and were 'trapped in an outhouse' the 'OnStar' person told them the how to save themselves by retuning the radio to 94.7fm... funny considering 'CSX and the RIF are both owned by the same company (along with WMGC 105.1fm) david |

D&M was hilarious - back when I was in middle school around ten years ago. Everyday during summer vacation, I'd head down to the basement, turn on 101, and then start on putting together model cars. I seem to remember them playing a lot more "Looney Tunes" and doing a lot more skits than they do now - Bob Boner, Butt Mike, fake Micheal Jackson calls, more Harris polls, Dilbert T ("bye, bye sumbitch!"), TrrrOY! Aikmen cologne commercials. They also never talked as much about the previous-night's TV shows as they do now. I remember Mike also laughing harder and longer back then. Maybe because they were funnier? |

Drew and Mike is okay, I listen to them when the other shows are on commercial breaks. My only problem with the show is that Mike is worthless. He pretty much just spends his time agreeing with Drew and spewing out sentence fragments that are supposed to be funny. |

I like when Drew asks Trudy a question about the news she just read. She usually pauses and then makes up a false answer, instead of just admitting she doesnt know what she is talking about. So much bad info coming from her, its almost painful. Also, did she marry or get a boyfriend who has something to do with the Pistons? |

According to Sticks, their humor isn't even sophomoric. Sticks...you thought they were funnier ten years ago. That's because you were in middle school. |
