You read it hear on DetroitYes, soon see it in action!
The Spirit of Detroit is getting a $100,000 makeover; work is expected to start in June.
It will be paid for through private funding, not tax dollars. The authority in charge of the statue will start soliciting bids in February to restore it.

And while we're discussing this, does anyone know the story behind the ax vandalism? I know it's there, but when and who? They ever get caught?

Also, did anyone find out who vandalized the Lincoln stature down town about 3 years ago?
