JP's Right hand man. Hal Youngblood had a phone number for everyone in his "little" black book and wasnt afraid to call them at 5:00 am for an interview. He will be sadly missed.

Right you are , Kenp. "JP's right hand man." I recall having a few lunches in the Normandie Restaurant mentioned in the Freep article while JP and/or Youngblood hosted the show. Back then they didn't do a lot of those Focus radio programs outside the studio, but I got the impression of all the restaruants in Detroit, the Normandie rated right there at the top for JP. So that's where the two of the could occasionally be found.
When McCarthy passed away, Youngblood gave a moving eulogy.
