I hope they keep the cool Yellow Pages sign. That's a great sign!

Good news, but there's no guarantee that they'll save the building

quote:

Expected to result in $38 million of capital investment, the brownfield redevelopment project will involve removal or adaptive re-use of old Michigan Bell Telephone Co. buildings, including the landmark 14-story former Yellow Pages building

Man, I sure hope it doesn't go. That thing is a unique landmark.

at least, i assume that's it by the description. i'll allow some room for error, i've never seen it myself.

agree with bobj, it's good to see some developments outside of downtown.

however, i am slightly confused - this describes it as being south of oakman, but looking at aerials, this building is on the north side. incorrect description?

I hope they're not tearing it down! What a pity it would be to see such a beautiful building come down.

It has to be one of the tallest commercial building outside of the city center (Downtown, Midtown, New Center), and is a Detroit landmark.

Scott,

The redevelopment will include the building and more, as described in the article.

That's two positive announcements in a week for that area. Visteon and Focus Hope Development.
