The new addition of MotorCity Casino caught fire on Friday.

Sources said there was smoke coming from the top of the hotel that has been under construction. Because the building is an addition in progress, there were no people inside the building.

Officials said they believe it was an electrical fire.

The flames have been put out. The side of the building is "singed," according to Local 4.

An investigation is under way.

Not sure which part of the building was singed, but here's a page with two newly-released renderings:

Wow. The rendering looks like a sports stadium crossed with a rather large fish tank. But at least it's new construction. Hopefully construction isn't impeded too much.

Never know...heh...might be exactly why...they might've needed an unscheduled construction delay.

(just playing the conspiracy card before anyone else does)

Like smoke damage that can be cleaned off with a good scrubbing, or like material damage?
