"At one point, in a marketing scheme so original it was noted in a 1925 issue of Time magazine, the hotel offered a free 48-hour life insurance policy to all guests at check-out."

For safety reasons do you think that a modern-day President would be put up in the BC?

Omerta, bro. The Purple Gang is still in evidence....quiet as it's kept....and, Detroit isn't violent. It's just emotional.

It doesn't seem as though presidents ever stay overnight. Even candidates seem to always have early afternoon/morning rallies or conferences and jet out before dusk to be somewhere like Grand Rapids or Chicago.

Nothing new in the article.
Although I still don't see how it's going to be ready by fall 2008. There is still so much work to be done!

I deliver USA Today to The Royal Park in Rochester every day. Maybe some day I'll get a chance to ignore him. (LOL)

Thejesus-- The life insurance offer is detailed in an ad reproduced in the Arcadia book.

Rhymeswithrawk-- It was reported in some media outlet a couple months back that the number of workers at the BC would be sharply increased once warmer weather hits. So the progress will accelerate.

For an interesting comparison, the original construction of the BC from groundbreaking to opening took less than a year and a half!

Funny how all the Detroit detractors end up on a pro-Detroit forum.

Just sad, Michigan is doomed!!

what is wrong with us hating us?

good news is good news, i will take it, but can you imgain if this article was on detnews.com and the track back blogs that will be posted on how black people cant run a city, and how bad detroit is and how it has nothing to offer?
