Just a brief question, but on average if you're in downtown between 9-5 PM, how many wealthy buiness men with a suit and/or briefcase do you see walking down the street taking care of business?? (not just talking of the financial district EITHER). |

Pedestrian traffic during business hours is not bad, especially considering how few major corporations are down there; on the other hand, there are tons of law offices, banks, etc. Campus Martius has been a real magnet. |

Most of the pedestrian traffic I believe is for personal business (bill payments and civil appointments or traveling through DD) causes a major amount of the foot traffic. There may be few people down there for shopping, but you will be hard pressed to find that bunch in foot traffic. |

I can help! Should I wear my suit tomorrow? Oh, wait. Did we have to be wealthy, too? |

With approx 80,000 downtown workers, there are lots of suits between 9-5PM. Downtown workers on average in most cities, are higher income, and usually dress nice for work People can make fun of downtown Detroit all they want. But its still the largest employment hub in the region. No where else in the region has 80,000 workers in such a small land area. |

Too many companies have gone "business casual." I think it's time we go back to suit and ties for men. Hats too. Men should wear hats and I'm not talking about baseball caps. I can't believe how "business casual" has been interpreted as and old crappy shirt guys pick up off their closet floor. |

OK, I was just kidding about the hats but really, business casual has gotten out of control. |

I agree Roomseller, this is a pretty useless thread at the moment. I have high hopes that it will one day turn into something worth everyones time though. The vague title alone will get something working on this thread. |

I'm scared of rich men in suits. Is the point that they are the only ones with economic impact? How 1950's. |

Business casual is getting to the point where I saw one guy coming out the Penobscot with a body painted suit. Too far, I say. |
