After 173 years of farm produce and greenhouse operations, Clyde Smiths of Westland closed it's doors at the beginning of the year. Now they will auction off some of the equipment used, this Saturday. They say that the business could not stay competitive, that sounds familiar. The 36 acre property has been sold and will be developed for single family homes. Yes, it's sad to see another piece of local history pass.
