Is a shopping mall going to be built on the Detroit side of 8 Mile and Woodward? Also, i heard that a new transit center was going to be built at that same location...Has anyone else heard about these things?

yes. They announced detroit is getting a department store finally, a fancy JC penney. Its suppose to be a big strip mall place its being developed by same owners as southland and lakeside mall.

Well since when Gratiot was a road. People all the time call it Gratiot rd, when in reality, it's an Avenue.

Penny's signed a letter of intent, not a lease. The Crain's article on it made it clear that this isn't set in stone

Call it a boulevard, a street, a thoroughfare, an avenue, a goat path or whatever... just get something built there and make it a positive change for the city, please!
