Thanks Rhymeswithrawk. It was late when I posted those snaps, and I was too tired (read: lazy) to do the research. Yes Milwaukee, I keep the point and pray close by at all times. Gravitymachine, I really wasn't looking to scoop a story, just curious is all. These days, one never knows what rising smoke may mean.
One last look:

No It came from SW Detroit. A vacant house caught on fire. I suspect ARSON! from squatting po-folks.

Rhymeswithrawk, I took those shots at approximately 2:15 pm, and looking west. The photo you posted in the news article has the smoke blowing to the left and time stamped around 3:40. Is your view looking east?

I saw the smoke from Fort Wayne at around 3 or 4 o'clock and wondered where it was from myself. It appeared to be coming from the northeast of there (1 to 5 miles)and was quite thick and dark. I can tell you as well that it was no where near SW Detroit!

My friend and I saw the smoke and investigated the incident. There was alot of smoke for what seemed to be a fairly contained smaller abandoned project townhouse fire. I repeat, it was abandoned... I don't think anyone was hurt, there were still people just a matter of yards away going on with their business, MOVING, playing, and of course gawking...
