That would be a wonderful addition to the Cultural Center!! And I'm sure that there could be some synergies between the Charles Wright Museum of African American History too.

A lot to be learned from the last paragraph, too.

"It would help to inspire people to do more community work," said 12-year-old sixth-grader Michael as he pruned the brown branches of a shrub in front of the home.

"If we kids can do it, adults can do it, too."

That has to be the longest closed structure in Detroit to still be standing: closed in 1926!

Hey dumbfuck...The hospital operations closed in 1926, not the structure. The Detroit Medical Society has been using it for other purposes.

Um, is it just me, or does it seem a little weird that a group of DOCTORS is scrambling around trying to raise $5,000.

Can't one of them just write a check? Or call one of their golf buddies?

Come on Dialh4, you know doctors never spend any of their OWN money! They'll find a drug company to sponsor it.

In light of the fact that the Wright Museum is weakly supported by average Detroiters (few visitors), I wish them well...

Funny how the scrappers got the historical marker... they need to make them of vinyl or wood or something of non-value.

I agree. While doctors may not make as much as they used to, twenty doctors could raise enough money just by donating $250 each. That's only a few patient visits!
