Is there a way to find out who served on Detroit's early 1900s common councils. I believe my great grandfather may have been part of the council during this time. Is the Burton the best source for this?

I dont know if the common council and city council are the same.

It must have been called something else prior to 1919, but is interesting to how many familiar names to Detroit's history served on council.
