Metro, if you want to ignore a detailed article from a reliable source quoting company spokesman, then, you are indeed delusional. Look at CF's website. As the article stated 75% of their locations are near shopping malls. Once it is proven that you don't know what you are talking about, you try and create your own reality.

This isn't about politics, it's about what businesses the city can attract right now.

Again Czar, anything to attack me and make a counter point to anything that I say, just because I don't agree with your politics from other threads.

Again, back up your claim. Show me a direct quote stating "CF corporate offices would never even entertain the notion of opening a business downtown" (Detroit). Sure 75% are near shopping malls, how about the other 25%? Nice job of throwing in a fact from the article that has absolutely nothing to do with your claim.

Once again the latest tactic of some on this forum. Provide a link, yet make up your own facts that say the exact opposite of what is in the link and/or make a claim of something that is not there at all.

Metro, you're paranoid. I'm not the one making claims that people who don't want a CF in Detroit are far-left socialists. I'm stating that CF's corporate strategy does not lend itself to opening a location in downtown Detroit anytime soon. For someone who claims to be pro-business, perhaps a refresher course on marketing plans is warranted? There isn't a lot of wiggle room in those things. If you don't believe me or the article I posted, I don't care, you asked for evidence and I brought you evidence. I'm not sure what the liberal/conservative dichotomy is on chain restaurants that serve giant portions of mediocre food, so enlighten me if you get a chance.

If you'd like me to dig up anything on the chances of Tiffany's opening a location in Highland Park, I'd be happy to do so.

Czar, you are one of the select few on this forum that could backtrack from his own erroneous claim while still attacking someone for calling you out on it while also still trying to salvage part of it.

Once again please back up your claim rather than going for the partial recant (which is not really a recant at all). "...does not lend itself to opening a location in downtown Detroit anytime soon" and "would never even entertain the notion of opening a business downtown" are two entirely different arguments. Nice try.

Maybe you can tell me again how "75% are near malls" as if that has anything to do with your claim. Throwing out "Tiffany's in Highland Park" was another nice nonsequitur.

Let me guess, a major chain coming to Highland Park would be bad too, right? I guess Sears, A&P, Highland Appliance, and Farmer Jack already got that memo.

I'm not recanting anything. But, it's fun watching you spin into these frenzies.

I enjoyed reading that, so I just wanted to reprint it...

I'm kinda wondering why Metrodetguy doesn't just move to a shopping mall somewhere.

I'll thread jack a little.

Susan and dialh, I think Atlas' new menu works just fine. Perhaps a little too pricey. They'd get more return and spur of the moment diners if the price point was dropped a little.

Dabirch, is La Colline still open? Haven't been to DC in a while. If the walls in that place could talk. Political intrigue, congressman/mistress liasons, the whole 80's cocaine scene; it was all played out there. Food was always pretty damn good too.

Also, in the pre-convention center/MCI center days, the DC Chinatown had several authentic Manhattan or SF-type Chinese restaurants as well as Chinese folks living in the townhouses.

I'm opening a restaurant called "The Cheesecake Assembly" and it will go in the new Quicken Loans headquarters. I expect it to be wildly successful as it is a new, independent restaurant in Detroit. Stay tuned.

I'm kinda wondering why Danindc doesn't just move to a deserted island, third world country (their small towns, because even their major cities have chains), or even a cul de sac somewhere. Perhaps he could created a major city w/o chains on Sim City.

Czar it's fun to watch your arrogance and complete disregard for the truth when confronted with the fact that you're wrong. And as always, it's fun to watch to take the opposite side of an argument and attack me simply because we don't agree on other threads.
